Horse trainer/riding instructor Terry Peiper from Carlisle, PA has been showing horses for over 40 years, teaching & training for over 25 years, judged open, schooling & 4-H shows for over 10 years, & fox hunted for 15 years. She is an accredited Richard Shrake Resistant Free Riding Instructor/Trainer, an American Riding Instructors Association Level II certified instructor and is currently enrolled in a certification program with the International Society of Rider Biomechanics.
Terry grew up on a small farm near Baltimore, Maryland where her parents raised and showed Appaloosas. She was known then as Terry Kahanovitz. In addition to very successfully showing Appaloosas at local, national and world levels; Terry has shown at 4-H, Quarter Horse and Paint Breed shows, side-saddle, dressage, eventing, barrel races, rodeos and hunter paces. She has shown at the prestigious Upperville, Washington International and Pennsylvania National Horse Shows over fences, on the flat and in hand, barrel raced at Bull Ride Mania and just about everywhere in between.
Since she has been there and done that she can easily relate to her students and the situations they have with their own horses. Terry can give her students the guidance and she can explain the whys. She has started numerous horses under saddle and has coached many owners through the process of starting their own horses. Her methods are a blend of natural and classical horsemanship emphasizing on the relationship and partnership between horse and rider. Her students understand and believe "you have to be in love with the process."
Buck N Horse Hollow is a small private farm, easily accessible with a horse trailer from major highways. There is a large outdoor sand ring, a grass ring, an indoor, hay fields and woods providing an excellent atmosphere for training horses and riders.
Terry Peiper is available for lessons Monday-Friday 9am-7pm and on Saturdays 9am-5pm in the winter. The indoor and outdoor arenas provide year round opportunity for training. Terry is dedicated to her mission of "Helping Horses with Their People" She welcomes visitors by appointment to meet her students, horses and to watch training lessons.
