Here are some ways your horse could possibly be trying to tell you that your saddle doesn’t fit properly. • Bucking • Head tossing or rooting • White hairs on his back • Tripping and stumbling • Girthiness • Spooking • Lack of forward motion and/or engagement • Not standing to be mounted • Refusing jumps • Trouble picking up leads • Unexplained lameness • Trouble going up or down hills Some signs that your saddle may not fit you. • Hip and knee pain • Upper or lower back pain • Seat bone or crotch discomfort • Insecure or trouble staying balanced A saddle ergonomist interfaces the saddle between the horse and the rider to allow comfort, proper rider position and avoid the negative reflex points on the horse’s back. Regardless of the type of riding the saddle must fit in the horse’s saddle support area, position the rider over the horse’s center of gravity and distribute the rider’s weight. As a horse develops with age and training the saddle support area, muscles and weight change dramatically and therefore creates the need for our saddles to change. FIT RIGHT SADDLE SOLUTIONS proudly sells and services the following adjustable saddles. Saddle Fit Evaluation/Consultation Saddle fit evaluations include measuring and analyzing the static and dynamic fit of all types of saddles to horse and rider. To be an effective rider the saddle must allow the rider to be centered over the horse's center. Saddle balance, tree angle, tree width, stirrup bar placement, horizontal and vertical panels all contribute to the rider's position. The horse and rider's capabilities, limitations and goals also need to be considered. Static fit - consists of measuring and analyzing the basic anatomy of the rider, the saddle and the saddle support area on the horse to determine the status of the saddle fit while the horse is standing still. Dynamic fit - conists of analyzing the rider's position and horse's performance while riding at the walk, trot and canter. The riding portion of the evaluation should be completed without the saddle pad if possible so that the horse's reactions are not masked by the pad. When the horse is stretching forward, tracking up, lifting his back with a quiet relaxed swinging tail he is comfortable with his saddle. Lack of forward motion, tripping, bucking, hollowing the back, irregular gaits, unhappy tail swishing and ears pinned back are signs of a horse unhappy, uncomfortable or in pain. For more information
about the signs of a poor fitting saddle visit our NEWS page and sign up for our monthly enewsletter. The evaluation process will last approximately 2 hours. If you are hauling in to Buck N Horse Hollow plan to arrive 30 minutes early so that we can start promptly at your scheduled time. We will start our evaluation with you and your saddle, pad and girth. After we measure you and your saddle, then we will measure your horse, sometimes lunge your horse briefly and ride. If possible bring a friend or friends along to help, the more the merrier!

"I received my Eurolight saddle yesterday afternoon. I was impressed with its looks and style. Later yesterday, Terry Peiper came and fitted the saddle. I have to tell you, as much as I was impressed with the saddle, I was that much more impressed with Terry. Mike Keretzman & Truely Wonderful "I wish I would have had this saddle when I first started riding - it would have saved me so many falls, and so many riding and training lessons that were actually trying to correct symptoms of ill fitting saddles." Tonda Lewis, Millerstown PA
